Please join the IES Boston and Rhode Island Section for a tour of the SolBe Learning Center, an early childhood development and daycare center located in Chestnut Hill. The project, designed by Supernormal and lighting design by Lam Partners, has received numerous awards including a BSA award for Small Firms Design, and an IES Award of Merit in 2019. Dan Weissman and Maggie Golden of Lam Partners will lead the tour and share lighting concepts used in this innovative educational space.

Dan Weissman designs luminous environments as a Senior Associate and Director of Lam Labs at Lam Partners. A Registered Architect and award-winning Lighting Designer, Dan leads the firm’s endeavors in digital technologies, daylighting design, and academic engagement. In addition to professional practice, he teaches lighting and daylighting courses at Harvard Graduate School of Design and has published articles and peer-reviewed daylighting research. In 2018 Dan was listed as one of 40 under 40 international Lighting Designers by Lighting Magazine.
Maggie designs and manages lighting and daylighting projects at Lam Partners, with 4 years of experience at the firm. With a background in architectural engineering and extensive expertise in digital simulation technologies, Maggie contributes new and creative ideas on the use of light, across many projects. She has also taught lighting design at the Boston Architectural College, and holds a Master’s Degree in Architectural Engineering from Penn State.
