SUMMARY:Fundamentals of Lighting Training
DESCRIPTION:This intensive 10-module program covers the breadth of material that IES works to standardize\, communicate\, and distribute. Based on feedback from previous years\, we’re offering the course as a mix of in-person and virtual sessions. \nThe Fundamentals of Light course is an excellent refresher and source of continuing education credits for architectural\, interior\, and landscape designers\, engineers\, manufacturers\, and electrical contractors. It also serves as a strong introduction to industry standards for anyone new to the field. \nCEUs: Approved CEUs are offered for each session attended\, up to a maximum of 20. There are no scheduled make-up dates\, though exceptions will be considered in the event of severe weather. \nSchedule: The course runs for 5 weeks (with one week off for LEDucation in New York). In-person sessions are held Tuesdays from 6–8pm and include dinner; virtual sessions follow on Wednesdays. \n  \nFundamentals of Lighting – Session Schedule\nWeek 1 – Apr. 7-8\n\nTue 4/7 (In-Person) — Module 8: Lighting for Interior Environments — Steven Rosen\nWed 4/8 (Virtual) — Module 1: Introduction to Light and Lighting — Coffield King\n\nWeek of Apr. 14 – No class (LEDucation)\nWeek 2 – Apr. 21-22\n\nTue 4/21 (In-Person) — Module 5: Lighting Controls — Webster Marsh\nWed 4/22 (Virtual) — Module 4: Daylighting — Sara Schonour\n\nWeek 3 – Apr. 28-29\n\nTue 4/28 (In-Person) — Module 6: Metrics\, Photometry\, Calculations\, and Rendering — Clyde Robinson\nWed 4/29 (Virtual) — Module 2: Electric Light Sources — Ben Koyle\n\nWeek 4 – May 5-6\n\nTue 5/5 (In-Person) — Module 7: Codes\, Standards\, and Practice — Gretchen Battle\nWed 5/6 (Virtual) — Module 3: Luminaires — Instructor TBD\n\nWeek 5 – May 12-13\n\nTue 5/12  (In-Person) — Module 9: Lighting for Exterior Environments — Clyde Robinson\nWed 5/13  (Virtual) — Module 10: Review — Coffield King\n\n  \n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nPricing Note: Ticket price does not include student materials.
