Light & Justice in practice

This presentation was an exploration of the intersection of lighting with environmental justice, by acknowledging just and unjust lighting practices, and empowering community-based lighting design. The audience will be challenged on their assumptions of who deserves “good” lighting and beneficial darkness through historical precedent and case studies. Attendees will leave empowered to disrupt the hierarchy of design expertise to include the “citizen” designer in the equation.
